The Cynosa Chroma is currently among the cheapest gaming keyboards on the market and sees itself as a competitor to the entry-level version of Logitech G410. It should be a low-cost entry-level keyboard and still provide a certain “wow effect”, and it does. These things are looked for in the Cynosa Chroma in vain. Many manufacturers of high-end boards today focus on extra features such as programmable buttons or mechanical switches. The two models can be ordered straight from Razer’s official site.Razer now has a big impact in the PC gaming world and is essentially responsible for how a gaming keyboard looks like today. The Cynosa Chroma is available for US$59.99, while the Pro version costs US$79.99. Both models feature the 10 key roll-over anti-ghosting technology and are spill-resistant. To compensate for the lack of mechanical keys, Razer also upped the polling rate to 1,000 Hz. Exclusive to the Razer Cynosa Pro model are the 24 programmable underglow zones that light up the desk on the left, right and front of the keyboard. Users can either choose preloaded color effects, or program unique patterns that change dynamically depending on the played game. The backlight effects can also be programmed for each key, choosing from 16.8 million colors.
All 104 keys are programmable through the proprietary Razer Synapse software, and users can record macro setups on-the-fly.
These are not mechanical keyboards, but Razer did integrate special soft-cushioned gaming-grade keys that are superior to regular rubber dome ones. Razer is expanding the RGB gaming keyboard lineup with two affordable models: the Cynosa Chroma and the Cynosa Chroma Pro, which is the first Razer model to include underglow lighting with 24 customizable zones.
